“TIME”

The month of April was crazy.  I have not traveled in and out of my family or my ministry so much in such a short period.  Now that I am back with no new travel plans I find myself running around trying to catch up and getting nothing done.  So I look to scripture and am reminded that a lot happens in 40’s.  40 years in the desert.  40 days in the wilderness.  40 days between the Resurrection and Pentecost.  In the Bible 40 means 40, but it also means “a very long time.”  God is not the one in a hurry.  God often takes things slow so we can have the time to catch up.  I am realizing that I am hurrying with things that need 40 days and I am not worrying about things that need to happen right away.  So I have decided to take a 40 day challenge.  I am going to strive to have 40 days of productive space as I take 40 days to focus on my mind, body and spirit.  We have some wonderful plans for HRC in the next 120 days (more on that later), but I have decided that Common Ground needs some time in the wilderness.  So when our friends from Vassar leave for the summer, we are leaving the Hampton Inn (just for a little while) to meet at my house and wander the desert and give God room to speak.  There is a lot going on all over HRC these days.  Some are things that really need to get done and others are things that maybe need to rest for 40 hours, 40 days or 40 years until we are certain of God’s will.

Please join me in a 40 day renewal as we step out of our time and into God’s!

Until Next Week,

Mark
