Bring a Friend to Hope

“God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing.”

(2 Corinthians 5:19-The Msg)

We will gather on Sunday in the center of our community on a day that fifteen years ago shook the center of our world – 9/11.  It was a day when our service under the tent was packed with people who needed a word of hope on a day of despair.  This Sunday the two Towers have been rebuilt as one – the Freedom Tower – but our world stands in need of the same hope it needed that day in September – the hope of the gospel, so that we can be reconciled to God and to each other.

I am excited for our Fall Kickoff on 9/11.  We will begin a series called Transformed and Transforming.  This Sunday’s title is: “Letting the New You Shine Through.”  These messages go to the heart of the gospel and are reflected in the foundations of Ridder Church Renewal.  I cannot think of messages that are more hopeful or helpful for everyone in our world.

Therefore, I am asking you to invite a friend to join you at the East Fishkill Recreation Center at 10:30.  Bring a chair for you and them, and invite them to stay for lunch as we share in a picnic together.  Paul says we are ambassadors for Christ, sharing in the ministry of reconciliation that has been given to us through him.  Be an ambassador this weekend.

Each week through this series we will hear a story of transformation.  This Sunday we will hear Steve Dambra’s story as we announce him as the full-time pastor of Odyssey.  Steve’s journey has been amazing, from a man devoted to the religion of running on Sunday morning to a man now devoted to the ministry of reconciliation on Sunday and every day.

Pure Joy will play, led by Lynn and Wayne Morrison, who have gone through amazing transformation themselves. Twenty years ago their lives were dedicated to music for money on Saturday night and now their lives are dedicated to sharing pure joy on Sunday morning.

Join in the hope of transformation on a day that shook our world to its core.  We will be reminded that God is still in the work of transforming each of us and our world.  Make sure you don’t miss this day.

In Christ,

Taylor
