A Reflective Life

“Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.” (Mark6:31)

Last weekend, I spent time with guys from the church along with my son at the Northeast Men’s Retreat. We went through the weekend with Rembrandt’s famous picture – The Return of the Prodigal Son. This weekend has been a transformative time for me through the years and it was good to share that now with my son. He loves Lake Champion because of the times that he spent there on weekends with our youth group.

As we continue on this fall focus of Transformed and Transforming, I think of the power of time away spent in reflection. It comes straight from the discipleship model of Jesus as he taught his disciples. They practiced that teaching and together they reflected on the meaning and impact of that ministry.

From the Northeast Men’s Retreat to Tres Dias weekends to Faithwalking retreats, we are offering opportunities to come away to a deserted place and reflect on life and ministry. In September we have heard transformation stories from Tres Dias. If you wish, you can still join the Faithwalking retreat that is happening next weekend. Registration closes today. You can register at Faithwalking.us

Times away have transformed disciples since the days of Jesus. They are still transforming disciples today. I pray that you will take advantage of such opportunities.

On the Journey,

Taylor
