Our Culture of Care

Because of God’s love for us we are called to love others in radical ways. It is our desire that all people of Hopewell extend help, care, compassion, and encouragement both within the walls of the church, in the community, and the world. We seek to create and express this culture of care to everyone.

What does our Extended Care Ministry do and how can people help?  A list of all our volunteer services that we plan, coordinate and provide to all members of our congregation who are shut-ins and to all persons in need include:

  1. Visitations for persons who need companionship
  2. Information and referral about issues of concern to older persons and their families
  3. Transportation to and from medical appointments
  4. Arrange home delivered meals on wheels
  5. Provide birthday parties for those age 90 or older
  6. Provide home care needs assessments before and during visitations
  7. Phone calls to let our people know we are thinking of them
  8. Flower delivery to our shut-ins
  9. Update list of persons needing extended care
  10. Update the team roster
  11. Mail out birthday cards to shut-ins and others who have health issues

We invite all of you to become part of our team.  You will bring the power of God in each caring situation.  We believe God has given each one of us gifts that we can give to caring for and loving one another.
