HRC supplies the bag lunches for 60 guests at the Homeless Shelter in Poughkeepsie the 2nd Monday of every month. Folks are needed to supply & make the bag lunches & volunteers are needed to take them to the Shelter that evening & serve the guests. This is a wonderful opportunity for groups in our church. Ushers - We need ushers for the 8:45 Gatherings service for the coming year. Inn fact, we are always looking for people to serve in this unique way. The commitment is to usher five times during the year. If you can’t commit to five times, please consider being a substitute usher now and then for either of our morning services or special services. Greeters Needed: First impressions are lasting ones! We want to give a great first impression by welcoming our congregation and visitors with friendly, smiling faces, a kind word, an offer of a hand shake. Our Greeter Ministry needs more helpful Greeters that are available to serve 1 to 2 times during each 6 month cycle. We’re happy to arrange times that fit your schedule. Family Promise needs the following supplies: Twin Sheets (used is o.k.), Blankets (used is o.k.); Non-perishable breakfast and lunch items (keeping it simple), and PRAYER, PRAYER, PRAYER! HRC will be training another class of Stephen Ministers in September. Stephen Ministers work alongside our pastors to care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to people who are going through a difficult time, such as divorce, grief, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal illness, relocation, chronic illness, or loneliness. If you have gifts for caring, encouragement, and listening, please begin to prayerfully consider whether you might want to be a part of this exciting ministry. With the Odyssey Worship service now moving to every week, there is an even greater need for help in planning, organizing and carrying out both fellowship activities and projects that are done as part of the Odyssey experience. We are looking for someone who can help a couple of hours a week to maintain the HRC grounds during the mowing season (April – November). Also, we need someone who can help periodically in maintaining/servicing our grounds equipment (rider mowers, hand mowers, blowers, weed trimmers, chain saw, etc.).
