3rd Annual HRC Chili Cook-Off!  March 17

Get out your apron and line up your spices–it’s time for the annual HRC Chili Cook-Off! If you think you have the best chili around, $10 will enter you in the competition, or just $5 will get you in to taste as much chili as you can hold, and a chance to help pick the winning recipe! March 17 from 5:30-7:30 PM. If you would like to enter your chili, or if you are able to bake a pie for dessert, please contact Cindy Gerber using the form below, or sign up on your Connection Card. Children at the Table March 15 & 22

Is your child ready to share in communion at the Lord’s table? Baptized children who have expressed faith in Jesus Christ are invited to explore the meaning of this sacrament through two preparation sessions: Thursday 15 March at 4:30 with Kurt Knoernschild and Thursday 22 March at 4:30 with Pastor Holbrook. During the Maundy Thursday Service on 29 March at 7:15, these children will be invited to participate in communion for the first time. Questions? Lenten Soup Suppers & Worship begins February 21

Our Wednesday night Lenten services, leading up to Easter, will have the theme ‘Jesus As Our Model.’ Jesus was dependent on the Holy Spirit and lived a life of P.O.W.E.R. During these five weeks we would like to take a deeper look at the foundations we see in Jesus’s life. We can all implement these foundations in our lives, and as we do, we will grow and impact those around us. We hope that you and your family will be able to join us Wednesday evenings from February 21 – March 21. Soup will be served starting at 6:15 and our services will start at 7:15 PM. Women’s Retreat – April 13 & 14

We will be back at the beautiful Linwood Retreat Center at 50 Linwood Rd, Rhinebeck NY 12572. Here is a link to their website for more info:
We are all set for Friday, April 13, 3:00 pm – Saturday, April 14, 4:00 pm, 2018.
Friday:  Check-in for retreatants 3 pm.  Dinner will be included this day.
Saturday:  Breakfast and lunch included; check-out will be 4 pm.
 
In addition to listening to a speaker, and enjoying wonderful worship music, you will have the opportunity for quiet time over the course of the two days, to be on your own with God, walking around the beautiful grounds Linwood is located on. They also have a wonderful Labyrinth on the property.
Cost per retreatant is $125.
Each retreatant will get her own room, with a shared bath/shower room at the end of each hallway. We only have space for (32); reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to join us on this wonderful weekend, please act on this quickly!
1)  Make a check out to HRC for $125 and note ” Women’s Retreat” in the subject line.
2) Put the check in an envelope; PLEASE include in the envelope a note with your name, phone, and email address.

As we study the book of Exodus, we will see that Israel faced a constant struggle to trust God completely. In this story of hardship and hope, you’ll discover along with Israel that God–and God alone–is worthy of our trust. Please join us for an exciting journey into the history of God’s chosen people as they move from bondage toward the promised land.

The class will be a 24 week course that will cover two major themes:

Part 1: Liberating God’s People
